QPO, Kew

WHAT’S ON THE MENU?
·         Prosciutto and Pear Pizza with chilli flakes, a touch of double brie and topped with fresh rocket and finished with a drizzle of honey ($18.00)
·         Warm Beef Salad - sautĂ©ed beef tossed with mixed lettuce, tomato, red onion, carrots and capsicum with an Asian style dressing ($17.00)
·         Braised Lamb Shanks with creamy mashed potato ($23.00) *gluten-free
·         Grilled Atlantic Salmon on sautĂ©ed seasonal vegetables with a capsicum pesto ($26.00) *gluten-free

WHAT WE ATE...
I chose the ‘Prawn Risotto with baby spinach and cherry tomatoes ($21.00)’. The risotto consisted of perfectly cooked rice and had a yummy flavour. It was just the ideal size so that I could also try one of their desserts…

My dining companion opted for the ‘QPO Beef Burger with tomato relish, bacon, cheese, caramelised onion, lettuce, tomato, chips and aioli ($20.00)’. This was also a great dish with a generous portion of chips.

We ended the night with a ‘Dark Chocolate Semifreddo with hazelnut praline, chocolate soil, fresh mint and raspberry sorbet ($11.00)’. This looked like a pretty garden with the mint sprigs sprouting out of the soil! The raspberry sorbet cut back the richness of the chocolate which resulted in a delightful dessert.

WHAT WE DRANK...
I picked a glass of ‘Vavasour “the pass” sauvignon blanc ($8.00)’.

My dining companion ordered a latte ($3.50).

OVERALL…
For date night, we popped up the road to QPO which is located near the Kew Junction. QPO is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and they can also host your next function. The interior is romantic and intimate with a reasonably priced dinner menu. The service was very attentive and helpful.
